Job Title: Site Health & Safety Manager

Department: Operations

Location: Corby

Salary : Circa £45,000 - £50,000, negotiable on experience

We currently have the opportunity to recruit a Health & Safety Manager, into the Tubes operation at our Corby site.


The Role

The Health and Safety Manager is required to provide professional Health and Safety expertise and leadership to the Corby site, managing and improving the Safety, Health and Fire activities and to ensure that the site remains compliant with both statute and certified systems.

In this capacity and as a member of the Corby site management team, you will:

  • Develop the future strategies and action plans for improving health and safety performance across the Corby site.
  • Provide expert advice to the management team on key Health and Safety matters, including statutory, corporate and business issues.
  • Develop systems to ensure legal compliance on all Health and Safety matters.
  • Develop and manage a programme to ensure that the Tata Steel Health and Safety management system is deployed across the site.
  • Manage the effective communication of Health and Safety issues across the site.
  • Provide professional timely statistical and other reporting requirements.
  • Take on the role of the “competent person” as defined in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.


The Candidate

To be considered for this opportunity, you should be educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in an engineering or associated discipline, and should hold a formal qualification in Occupational Health and Safety Management (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate) and in Fire Safety.

You must also be able to demonstrate a track record of success in the management of Health and Safety and a NEBOSH Diploma would be desirable.

In addition to this, you will need to be able to communicate effectively, and have well developed influencing skills.
