Salary : £35,000 - £40,000 + Company Car

We are looking for an ambitious sales professional, who has experience of managing an external sales territory. Knowledge of the builders merchant and developer sector is highly advantageous. Candidates must ideally be located within the sales territory of the North East and North West England.

The Role

The Account Manager will oversee the trading relationship of the company with its most important customers and will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining long term key customers. Adept in building strong relationships with strategic customers, and able to identify needs and requirements to promote the company’s products and service.

This role is for one of our territories in North England, where you should ideally be based

For our Account Managers , no two days are ever the same. Some of the main responsibilities within your scope include:

  • Manage the overall business activity with multi-level level contacts/stakeholders for designated accounts, including systematic and regular review of customer performance against targeted sales volumes.
  • Monitor sales and performance to ensure sales plan targets are met, considering forecast and demand spike impact on the business.
  • Leverage supplier status to target branch stockist conversion, increasing share of spend for designated key accounts.
  • Provide reports on key account plan progress and dashboard metrics to the National Sales Manager/Sales Director. Maintain ‘live’ account plan templates for designated customers.
  • Using our CRM systems, ensure leads generated are actively tracked and projects specified are converted in line with win rate sales cycle targets.
  • Lead on optimum response to complaint, service recovery and price/invoice resolution.
  • Facilitate and deliver customer training on product, pricing and process.

 

The Candidate

To be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate the below experience and skills:

  • Experience of managing an external sales territory
  • Knowledge of the builders merchant and developer sector is highly advantageous 
  • Customer pricing and rebates
  • Commercial policy & processes
  • Competition law
  • Presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Product knowledge
  • Product standards

Candidates will ideally be located within the sales territory of North East and North West England.
