Salary: £46,577 - £53,346 (inclusive 174 AAH Hours) + bonus + benefits

We are currently recruiting for an Asset Improvement Engineer to join our expanding team at Shotton Works. This is an exciting time to join the team, where you will have the opportunity to be involved with sector leading AI involvement, across site.

 

The role is Monday - Friday, 08:00am - 16:00pm and entails projecting industry 4.0 & IoT technology onto the three production lines to improve asset monitoring and performance throughout the Shotton site. Involved at bringing new ideas through to fruition from start to finish and managing multiple projects around the site.

The role also includes learning from others in industry by the ability of attending related businesses and exhibitions to learn best practice in selected areas and looking to implement that with the rest of the department and the wider engineering team here at Shotton.

 

 

 

 

What you will do:

 

The job holder will be responsible for engineering systems adherence and maintenance activities and asset improvement within the Manufacturing Engineering function to support Shotton process lines and auxiliary plant.

They would also need to help deliver the Annual Operating Plan in respect of Health and Safety, and provide information, as required, to ensure targets are in control.

The responsibilities of this role will also include, but are not limited to:

  • Have an Involvement with deploying asset enhancing initiatives overarching all process lines and auxiliary plant.
  • Complying with all required company safety protocols, safety legislation, whilst also ensuring legal compliance of plant such as emissions limits.
  • Major Maintenance involvement with regards to plant reliability critical projects, which can include key infrastructure repairs to plant.
  • Ensure that services provided are technically sound and employ World Best practices in order to maintain a high standard.
  • To effectively liaise with Shotton user departments at all levels and functional managers, when required.
  • Carry out Asset Improvement projects aligning with planning departments, Operational Line department engineers to ensure the projects are agreed to and carried out in a timely functional manner.
  • Manage a team for deployment and installation of IoT Technology to allow the creation of online dashboards for information purposes.
  • Create and assist in the creation of a new online monitoring system inventing dashboard and system practices.
  • Be able to manage technological and large scale projects from start to finish and liaise with external companies in regards to completing asset development tasks.

 

 

What you will need:

 

Applicants must be flexible with excellent team working and leadership skills. Experience in Industrial Engineering is desirable along with possession of relevant qualifications of Degree level or higher (Not required if suitable experience can be shown).

Additional beneficial requirements are:

  • A good awareness and leadership of health and safety in the workplace
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across all levels
  • Experience in managing a workforce and projects
  • Be self-motivated
  • Be computer literate with SAP experience an advantage
  • Be able to multi-task
  • Includes an element of manual handling
  • Attention to detail
