What you will do

We are seeking two highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineers, with either a strong Process Safety or Chemical Engineering experience, to join our team. Reporting to the Works Engineering Manager for Building Systems UK, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a team of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Technicians.

 

Your primary focus will be developing efficient processes, executing effective strategies, and ensuring the timely completion of projects.  You will be responsible for managing budgets and overseeing their successful execution throughout the year. Collaborating closely with the wider technical and manufacturing teams, you will ensure that preventative (and reactive) maintenance projects are delivered on schedule and within budget, maintaining a high level of quality and adherence to organisational objectives.  

 

A key part of your role will be to help build and grow either Chemical Engineering or Process Safety Engineering competence both within the engineering team and across other departments too. You will develop and test chemical processes and collaborate with our chemists to enhance processes and equipment.  Confidence in delivering training to manufacturing operators as well as engineering team members as part of their personal development plans is key. As part of the engineering team, you will contribute towards annual operational financial budgets and assist in the procurement and management of engineering spares and consumables.

What you will need

We are looking for candidates that can demonstrate:

  • A proven track record
  • Strong Commercial awareness
  • Strong supervisory skills and effective management experience of diverse engineering functions
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety systems and processes
  • Process Safety or Chemical Engineering background
  • Technical Qualifications in Engineering i.e. Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of Engineering practices and Chemical Engineering / Process Safety processes
